The hotel was beautiful with a traditional look and feel. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. They had a delicious breakfast buffet that included choices of western and asian foods as well as eggs and coffees, such as cappuccino, to order. We used the swimming pool everyday as a refresher at the end of our hot and busy days.

The receptionists are super friendly, they always provide me with detailed information. Our family stayed in the one-bedroom apartment on the ground floor with a nice view to the pool. The apartment looks older than in the pictures, but everything is working as expected, so it didn’t concern us at all. Our 8-year old kid loves the pool and the cats very much and surely we will come back again. Thanks for hosting us.

Everything was perfect, close to everywhere, with super nice, helpful, and friendly staff, and a complete breakfast. This was my favorite place during my whole stay in Thailand. The room where we stayed was kind of big with a lovely Asian Japanese style, in my opinion. There was nothing to complain about regarding cleanliness, and they replaced our bottles of water and towels if needed, with amazing daily service. In the lobby, they helped me book activities during our stay, and the recommendations for tours were accurate and amazing. This place exceeded my expectations for sure.

Surrounded by Thailand’s highest mountains, Chiang Mai is the beloved, idyllic and somewhat mystical capital of the North. With more than 300 temples, it's considered one of the most important cultural centers in the country.
Despite being Thailand's fifth-largest city, Chiang Mai still has a relaxed and laid-back feel. Modernity, trendy shops and boutique hotels haven’t altered much of its picturesque and peaceful atmosphere.
This reputation is partly due to its proximity to lush green areas, mountains like Doi Suthep, and its panoramic Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep temple. The Doi Inthanon National Park is 37 miles away with Thailand’s highest mountain.
Hotels in Chiang Mai’s old city center are a popular choice, with picturesque scenery featuring its moat and older temples. Chiang Mai hotels can also be found around the Chang Klhan Rd, where the famous Night Bazaar takes place.
The city’s nightlife runs along the Loi Kroh Rd, while Ratchadamneon Road hosts the main Sunday night pedestrian market. Don’t forget to buy an umbrella from Bo Sang and eat a bowl of kao soi.
Whether you arrive at Chiang Mai International Airport or come by land from Bangkok, don’t miss "The Rose of the North" deals on Booking.com!
Love Chiang Mail and would go back again. However, the hot weather was uncomfortable. The traffic was bad and we were stuck for more than an hour.
We hired a van driver through Get Your Guide and highly recommend it, provided you do some homework and know what and where to visit.

Chiang Mai was so chill that I almost forgot my cell phone.
Chiang Mai was so chill that I almost forgot my cell phone. I could enjoy the city without using my phone which just like I had left every bad memory behind in my own country and enjoyed the present of the atmosphere of the City. I then understood why my co-worker visit Chiang Mai every single year. Besides, the food was so affordable and extremely delicious. We are planning to go to Chiang Mai soon with my friend again shortly.

Chiang- Mai has changed over the years; several places were closed during the pandemic but never reopened. The city is now more international, with a growing number of Chinese tourists and residents. Northern culture and local warm hospitality still remain.

Chang Mai is much bigger than I had realised.
Chang Mai is much bigger than I had realised. It has some historical sites, including the obligatory temples, and unique city walls and gates, as well as lots of activities for nature lovers, animal lovers and those that like "doing" things like canoeing, rafting etc. We went on a tour with Annie to the Sticky waterfalls, which was brilliant, and also did a night tuk tuk tour to several temples and the markets which we really enjoyed, and attended a Khantoke dinner and show, which was excellent. There were also lots of places to eat in the numerous markets, and lots of places that offer cheap massages. I would recommend flying here (cheap and frequent flights) and then doing lots of day trips/ activities from here, including the white temple and blue temple located in Chaing Rai. Note, it is a few degrees cooler here than Bangkok - a blessing for us as the rainy season is just starting and it is very hot and humid here (late May)

I had a friend who was able to give me a head start in getting around the town and district. Also on one day I hired a driver for about 3 hours to drive me around to the sights he thought were worth visiting. That was very cheap, 1000THB and good value. Just make sure their English is good enough for what you want, otherwise it would be a pain.
The town is really clean. No rubbish to speak of anywhere. Most of the action is from about 10.00 am through to midnight when it is the cooler hours of the day. The fresh food markets are very interesting to get an idea of how the Thai people transact business.
An interesting place to visit is the Museum of Makers. Doesn't get much of a write-up but worth it. It is an arts and crafts location with very good quality items - clothes, jewellery, furniture, coffee. The building is great architecture, modern Thai.

I loved it in Chiang Mai.
I loved it in Chiang Mai. The temples are beautiful, the Chiang Mai night bazaar was lovely (probably one of my favorite night markets, as they had shopping, food, and Muay Thai fights), and many day trips available. The nicest elephant sanctuaries seem to be located here as well. I went to Chai Lai Orchid for a day at the elephant sanctuary and had the greatest time of my life. The only downside about Chiang Mai was I went in April which happens to be burning season. Air quality wasn't great. It was considered "Unhealthy" throughout my stay but that didn't stop me from being outside and doing activities. Just be careful.
Extremely good hotel in an excellent location at a ridiculously low price!
We loved everything about this hotel. Located right next to the old city gate and about a 10 minute walk through some great streets to the night market. Do not miss the food court at the market and especially Ha Longs BBQ ribs. The best ribs I’ve eaten outside of Texas, and they even gave them a run for their money!
The hotel is calming, tastefully decorated, big rooms, huge bed and lovely staff. Would stay here again when next in Chiang Mai
Beautiful hotel and grounds. Spacious room with comfortable bed. Loved the balcony. Really friendly and helpful staff (reception helped organise excursion to elegant sanctuary and transfer to airport). Large beautiful pool, which was great to cool off at the end of the day. Nice breakfast and nice simple cooking tips during lunchtime. Very good location for exploring old city. Saturday night market just a few minutes walk. Nice bar / restaurant opposite. Lo
Excellent customer service from airport pick up to airport drop off. Lovely ambience of a small Thai hotel. Great super clean pool. Perfect breakfast, not too much but good western options plus daily Thai options, fruit, salad, juice, cereal ... late check out was super cheap at 100Thb per hour. We'll located, only a short walk to the night bazaar and Sunday night markets and the old city with plenty of tuk tuks and taxis around.
The hotel was really new, modern, well located and had water and fresh fruits for free everyday, which is really nice in a hot city like Chiang Mai. Also loved the breakfast, well served from early morning until 10am. The location is great too, walking distance to main streets and Old City but in a quiet and peacefull street. Have to say that it was really worth it, specially considering the costs involved in the stay.
It's a very pleasure stay for me and my family during our first visit to Chiang Mai. The host and hostess have been very kind and helpful. The room was spacious, clean and quiet. The location is not inside the old city but very close to the Chiang Mai gate and the night market we visited couple of times. Overall, I was very glad and lucky to choose this hotel. Thanks Nan and her husban for the great hosting, see ya.
We had a really nice stay at SleepMai. Check in was smooth and rooms were modern, spacious and super clean. The facilities such as the common area and pool were also great. Breakfast was tasty. Location is perfect for first time visitors and within walking distance from the Old town. But the best of all was the staff! Always smiling, helpful and extremely service minded.
We would love to come back to this hotel.
Nud (our concierge) was extremely hospitable, friendly, and always available! She gave us the best recommendations throughout our stay and was there to help us book all our activities and rentals.
The hotel was very central to everything (walking distance) to restaurants, bars, gyms, markets, etc., within the Old City. The property and room were very clean and quiet. Nice rooftop area with private pool.
Everything was wonderful! 5 starts for the value. Sabuy Chiang Mai a comfortable, clean, quiet, great energy boutique hotel to rest and recharge. Shared space with everything you could want. On a beautiful street in SE old city with the Sunday market just down the street. The owner is one of the sweetest men i have ever met and is right onsite for your every need. You will love it.
The Vieng Mantra is a cute boutique hotel in the old city. The location is the best, close to the Sunday Walking Street and to PhaeTae Gate. I've stayed here on two trips now and plan to again the next time I travel to Chiang Mai. I was surprised at how well maintained it was after closure from the pandemic. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The price is very good value.
Staff was very nice and helpful. The hotel/rooms are exceptionally clean and well maintained. While reservation said no meal service options, coffee/tea and a nice selection of foods/fruit are actually available for breakfast in the morning and throughout the day. The location is very good - walkable to old city and good places nearby for coffee/snacks and restaurants.
Located within in the old city, within walking distance to one of the main temples. The Sunday walking street passes directly opposite.
Breakfast is buffet style but with an additional choice for the egg option/soup.
If you book directly with the hotel, they provide access to small tours.
Free bike to use which is really handy if you would like to explore more.
New hotel on the best location in Chiangmai. Near Thaphae Gate in old city and Changmoi road (new landmark of food). Very clean hotel with good breakfast and good gym. Good Air-condition, good bed and very clean room. The hotel's staffs take care us with warm as their family. We would go back to stay at this hotel for our next trip in Chiangmai.
Hotel is located close to Thapae Gate and the start of the Chiang Mai Marathon. It is a perfect location for exploring the old city. The staff are friendly and incredibly helpful. The bed was very comfortable and the room has a kettle and fridge. There is a laundry available for clothes washing. Breakfast was varied and good.
The hotel is situated just across from the North gate of the Old City, close to a night food market, 7Eleven and an ATM but is also in a quiet backstreet. The staff are absolutely lovely and super helpful. The rooms are immaculately clean and we had fresh sheets every other day. I couldn't fault this place. Thank you.
Comfortable king size beds, clean bathroom, quiet area. This hotel is located in the old city center, surrounded by good restaurants, coffee shops, a nearby nightlife area, and anything you may need for a comfortable stay in Chiang Mai. Friendly and helpful staff.
Best hotel I've stayed in Thailand by far, easily beating 5-star hotels. New spacious room, super clean, bed & pillows extremely comfy, nice minibar, great location to explore Chiang Mai, great AC, friendly staff, netflix in the rooms ... ticks all the boxes.
The hotel is located near Tha Phae Gate in the old city. Great location. The staff was very helpful and met all our needs. They helped with reservations for cars, requests for specific items for rooms, always greeted us with a smile.
Simply great. I wished I could rate Lee Chiang 11/10. The hotel is in the old city, near a very beautiful temple. Breakfast is great, the amenities are good but the best thing is the exceptional service by Kishore and his staff.
